The Art of the Find

Curated antiques & curiosities.

Every piece here was picked up by hand, from estate sales, farm auctions, and the back corners of shops that don’t have websites. Nothing is reproduced. When it’s gone, it’s gone.

Every Friday morning

Most weeks I look at a few hundred things and bring home a dozen.

The rest of it stays where I found it. That is the whole job — walking past nearly everything.

The person doing the digging

I’ve never once bought something I wouldn’t put in my own house.

I’m Kindra. I spend my weeks in estate sales, church basements, and the kind of barns where you need a flashlight. What I’m after is the thing that got made properly — solid brass, cut glass, dovetailed drawers — and then got forgotten.

I clean it, repair what’s genuinely broken, leave the age alone, and write down exactly what’s wrong with it before you ask. That last part matters more to me than the sale.

How this works

From a dusty shelf to yours

I go looking

Estate sales on Friday mornings, auctions at the weekend, and a handful of pickers who call when something turns up that isn’t their thing.

I make it right

Cleaned, rewired, re-glued, or restrung as needed. Original finishes stay original — patina isn’t damage.

It goes up Friday

New pieces post here every Friday morning, with real measurements and every flaw named out loud.

You take it home

Pick up locally, or I’ll pack and ship it properly — the big things go by blanket-wrap freight.

“I’d rather sell one thing I’d happily keep than ten things I wouldn’t.”

See the new finds first

One email a week with what just came in. The good pieces usually go within a day or two, so the list is the only real head start there is.
